Chris Gordon

Gordon ~ Chris Gordon was born January 2, 1952, in Folkston, Georgia to Mattie Mae Gordon and Herman Haywood.

Chris attended schools in Nassau County, Florida; he attended Pine Forest High School and graduated from West Nassau High in the first graduating class.  Chris attended United Electronics College, Florida Technical College, Georgia Technical College, Clayton State College, and numerous training colleges all over the United States.

Chris came to Christ at an early age, being raised and baptized at Mt. Charity Missionary Baptist Church of Hillard, Florida.  After moving to Tampa, Chris joined Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor/Dr. J. J. James.  Chris then moved his membership to Friendly Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board and the Finance Committee under Pastor Johnny Miller.  After moving from Tampa, Chris became a member of the Hillard Assembly of God where he served under Pastor Arlie Johns.  He was a dedicated servant of the Lord.

Chris leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Atonette Gordon, Bridgette Harris, Angelia Brockman; sons, Brian C. Maress, Sr. (Jazmine), Trey Harris, Elder Stanley Harris (Queen Bee); grandchildren, Charletta Gordon, Dontavius Wade, Rickey Kelly, Ye’Shia Brown; great-grandchildren, Ri’lynn Green, Ruel Green, Ryleigh Green, Dahnyla Wade, Dontavius, Jr; god sister, Clevetta McHenry; special friends, Alzada and Joyce; a host of relatives and close friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Chris Gordon, 11 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Hilliard First Assembly of God, 550920 U S Highway 1, Hilliard, Florida.   Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J.
