CLARK-THOMAS ~ Cheryl Ann “CHERRY” Clark-Thomas was born September 8, 1959 in Ft. Pierce, Florida to the late Sandford D. Clark and Rosetta B. Clark-Henderson. She was educated in Duval County Schools, graduating from Sandalwood High School in 1977, and attended Florida Community College at Jacksonville, Florida. Cheryl was a licensed Insurance Agent for many years and held various Customer Service jobs in several Jacksonville corporations, including Humana, Blue Cross, Shands Hospital, Vistakon, and Elite Information Services.
In recent years, Cheryl dedicated her time and energy to the care and security of her family, especially her grandchildren. Cheryl gave of herself in charitable ways to her family, friends and sometimes to people she did not know very well. She had a good heart and did not relish or seek material things. She will be missed.
Cheryl received the gift of salvation during her first pregnancy, when she pursued more filling of God’s Holy Spirit after accepting Jesus as her Savior and friend. She expressed to her mom that she wanted to feel the power even though she knew she was saved. God granted her the power in His time on a night she had thought “guess it won’t be tonight.” She was a member of Impact Church for several years.
Cheryl and her husband, Fred, devoted to each other over thirty-two years, blended a large family of three sons and seven daughters.
Cheryl is survived by her beloved husband, Fred Thomas; sons, Maurice Green, Jacksonville, Florida, LaBarron Thomas, San Jose, California, Zendrick Cunningham (Tiffany), Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Melissa Green-Anderson, Meagan Hobson (Jeffrey), Jacksonville, Florida, Letricia Thomas, Charlotte North Carolina, Rochelle Taylor (Geechi), San Francisco, California, Camille Thomas, Lubbock, Texas, Delisa Ozolio (Jude), Dubai, UAE and Cynthia Kimbrough, Pine Hill, Alabama; grandchildren, Celeste, Maya, Isaiah, Shayleesa, Niyah, Maurice, Jr., Jeremiah, Zariah, Victoria, Jonathan, Sidney, Madelyn, Decourtney, and LaShaun; loving mother, Rosetta Henderson; sister and best friend, Celesa Clark-Byrd (Michael), Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Terry D. Clark (Laura) Jacksonville, Florida, and Richard Clark (Ursula) Atlanta, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Ethel Slaughter, Lower Peach Tree, Alabama, Mattie Beaty (Calvin), Rock Hill, South Carolina, Elizabeth Holloway, Mobile, Alabama, Alice Carstarphen, Cleveland, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Tony Thomas (Brenda), Uniondale, New York, and James Thomas (Barbara), Stone Mountain, Georgia; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and many close family friends. Again, she will be missed.
Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Cheryl Ann Clark-Thomas will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Impact Church, 8985 Lone Star Road, Bishop George Davis, Pastor. Family will receive friends Monday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Interment at Edgewood Cemetery. Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E.
