Smith ~ Chalandra Shantrell Smith, daughter, mother, sister, and aunt transitioned to her heavenly home October 26, 2021. On March 3, 1976, Chalandra was born to Maurice Smith and Eunice Brown. She was educated in the Duval County Public Schools.
Chalandra was a faithful servant of the LORD until her health declined. Prior to this, and because Chalandra "loved God, and He was her everything," she was set apart and ordained as a deaconess under the leadership of Pastor Walker.
Chalandra had an infectious smile which lit up a darkened room. It’s that smile and her love that she had for her family that will be missed by her daughters, Khania (DeAndre) Dickerson, Samantha Ellis; son, Jalen Pierce; father, Maurice (Avis) Smith; mother, Eunice (Marvin) Warrick; siblings, Karease (Tywanna) Brown, Willie Gilmore, James Gilmore, Kenya Gilmore, Marvin “man-man” Gilmore, Marcus Smith, and Ahmad Smith; nephews, nieces, cousins; a host of friends, including special friends, George Pierce and Isabelle Williams.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mrs. Chalandra Shantrell Smith, 11 AM Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
