Calvin J. Pittman

Pittman ~ Calvin James Pittman passed away November 11, 2023. He was born January 1, 1972, to the late Reverend Willie James Pittman and Mary Helen Pittman-Shafter in Jacksonville, Florida.  Calvin attended elementary school at Windy Hill Elementary and later graduated from Sandalwood Senior High School, class of 1990.  During his school age, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and played little league baseball and soccer.  Calvin was also a member of Community Baptist Church of Atlantic Beach, Florida.

He was an employee at Ryans Steak house, Publix Supermarkets, and later employed with The Coca-Cola Company. Calvin received many service awards over the years while employed with Coke, where he dedicated twenty-five years of service.  He was dedicated to his work and making sure that he could maintain and provide for himself and his loved ones.  Calvin loved to spend time with family when he was away from work and enjoyed traveling.

Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Willie James Pittman; grandparents, Ester C. Pittman, Pauline Pittman, Henry B. Addison, Nita B. Addison; stepfather, James B. Shafter.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Cierra J, Pittman, Antwanette Martin, Emmanuel Kiptoo Pittman; grandchildren, Tytiana, Aubrey, Kash, and Kyree; mother, Mary Pittman Shafter; brother, Derek G. Pittman; sisters, Tamara D. Carwsell (Ellis) and Willisha M. Pittman; uncles, Kenneth Cheeks, Johnny Addison (Ann), Dennis Addison, Paul Addison; godmother, Lizzie R. Norton; best friends, Charles Williams and Melvin Wiggins; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life service for Calvin James Pittman will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 752 3rd Avenue South, Jacksonville Beach.  Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Interment in Beaches Memorial Park.  Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J.
