Byron K. Grant, Jr.

Grant ~ Byron Keith Grant, Jr. transitioned from labor to reward January 14, 2023, at the age of thirty-eight.  He was born July 30, 1984, to Byron Grant, Sr. and Cynthia LaRosa Grant in Jacksonville, Florida.  Byron was the apple of his parent’s eye.  Being the only child, Byron was very close to his parents and shared many wonderful experiences together.

A native of Jacksonville, Byron and his mother moved to the Florida Keys where he graduated from Marathon High School; he participated in football and in the high school orchestra.  Byron furthered his education by attending Florida International University (FIU) where he studied music. 

Two of his greatest joys came when Byron III and Aiylah were born.  They were the love of his life, and he was the love of their life.  Because of his love for children, he volunteered with the underprivileged children in the Florida Keys.  Byron was employed with Peraton Government for Homeland Security as a GMW at the time of his untimely demise.

He leaves to cherish his memory children, Byron Keith Grant III & Aiylah Rosa Lee Grant; mother, Cynthia Patrice Grant; stepfather, Jim Rutherford; uncles, John Wesley LaRosa, Jr., Victo Emmanuel LaRosa, Sr., Julius (Elnora) LaRosa, Sr.; aunts, Johanna Elizabeth LaRosa, Drucilla (Silas, Sr.) Daniels; cousins, Pamela Denise Tutson, Patricia Deahn Webb, Victo Emmanuel LaRosa, Jr., Nicholas LaRosa, Jacob LaRosa, Adia LaRosa, Silas Daniels III, Maurice Daniels, Sr., Julius LaRosa, Jr., Jason LaRosa, Steve LaRosa, Kristie LaRosa; a host of cousins, extended family, and friends. 

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Byron Keith Grant, 11 AM Friday, January 27, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Oakland, 1025 Jessie Street, Pastor Christopher McKee.   Visitation Thursday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J.
