Brittanie Lundy Obituary

LundyOn February 27, 1986, Brittanie Dixon was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Charles Dixon and the late Ruby Marie Williams. Brittanie was the last born of three children. From her early childhood, Brittanie spent many of her days attending church at New Spirit Full Gospel, under the leadership of Bishop Forest Gilbert, where she was an active member who served fervently by participating wherever she was needed. Brittanie was the leader for the dance team, read the weekly announcements, and even helped sing on the praise and worship team. She was a committed and devoted member who loved the Lord and had a strong faith that helped her over the course of her life.

At the age of 19, Brittanie met the love of her life Ernest Lundy. She and Ernest’s love grew quickly and from their union they shared four children whom Brittanie loved and cherished dearly. Brittanie was a great mother and even extended that level of affection to her nieces and nephews over the years.

Brittanie graduated grade school in the Duval County Public Schools and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. While attending high school, Brittanie was a part of a pharmacy program through the Bridge of Jacksonville which started her interest in the medical field. Immediately following high school, Brittanie continued to work as a Pharmacy Technician but later joined The Cancer Specialist of Jacksonville where she worked over ten years as a Chemo Technician. Brittanie has never met a stranger and she used her outgoing personality to ease the pain and provide a positive patient experience for the patients she served. Her smile and infectious personality lit up any room she entered. Brittanie later took her passion for patients and the desire to motivate others to Optum Rx. Shortly after joining Optum Rx, Brittanie’s colorful personality and willingness to help others helped her climb the corporate ladder; she received two promotions within 1.5 years of service. Brittanie ended her time at Optum Rx as a supervisor who other supervisors could depend on and helped her agents improve their professional development.

A lover of sports, Brittanie rarely missed a game if any of her family who were participating. She was always the loudest in the crowd and everyone knew who she was cheering on. Brittanie enjoyed travelling, spending time with friends, trying new restaurants and different cuisines, and most of all making people laugh and smile. If she saw a stranger standing alone, she would always say the right words.

Over the past 3 years, Brittanie has relentlessly fought cancer. Brittanie had her mind set on her healing and her faith centered in God. Her desire was to get healthy and continue to enjoy her life with her husband and children. On January 15, 2022, Brittanie was called home to be with the Lord; where she now has her complete healing and freedom from the stressors of this world.

Brittanie was dearly loved by all of her family including those that preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dixon and her mother, Ruby Marie Williams; grandmothers, Louise McCloud and Maime Dixon “Muh”; grandfathers, Arthur McCloud, Roosevelt Dixon “Dad”; and uncle, Ephron Lee Johnson (Gwen).

Brittanie leaves to cherish her memory a husband of 10 years, Ernest Lundy Jr; children, Ernest Lundy III, Eden Lundy; step-children, Kamara Lundy and Eyana Lundy; brother, Steven McCloud; sisters, Latissha Johnson, Teneshia Waring (Rashine); aunts, Wilhelmenia Gilbert (Forest), Sallie Robinson (Vonn), Gloria Dixon, and Angelia James; uncles, Willie Kirkland (Rose), James Johnson (Cindy), Clarence Stanley Johnson (Tangie); nephews, Jashawn Dixon, Jawuan Dixon, Steven McCloud II; nieces, Raijeen McCloud, Vi’yonce Griffin, Kamay McCloud, Andreyana Gibson; a host of sorrowing family and close friends.
