Arizander Rivers, Sr.

Rivers ~ Arizander Rivers, Sr., 69, passed away peacefully February 4, 2024, at his home.  He was born March 19, 1954, to Joe E. Rivers, Sr. and Katherine McKenzie.  Arizander was a proud resident of Jacksonville, Florida and was a 1972 graduate of William M. Raines High School.

He married Dorothy Rivers on August 1, 2001, at their home.  Arizander was employed with HUB as a hazmat driver until he became ill.  He never met a stranger!  Arizander shared his outgoing personality with everyone he encountered and was so loved by many.

He loved his family, enjoyed traveling, photography, baseball and music.  Arizander absolutely loved jazz.  He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Rivers; children, Arizander Rivers, Jr. (Tamelia), Taryn Phillips, Aubry Rivers, Tamonica Mike (Frederick), Roderic Gatson, Mattiqua Gregory (Kai); grandchildren; siblings, Miltee Manning, Joe E. Rivers, Jr. (Betty), Henry Rivers (Gwen), Martha Rivers, Earl Rivers (Connie); best friends, Terry Daniels (Gwen), Michael Mathis (Joyce), James Williams, Andre Lundy; a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Memorial Celebration Service for Arizander Rivers, Sr. will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024, Greater True Vine FBH Church, 1439 Spearing Street.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
