Bordeaux ~ Annie Mae Bordeaux was born September 16, 1937, to Edward and Charolette Elizabeth Simmons. She lived in Callahan, Florida until the age of eleven when she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to live with her sister, Flora Noble. Sista Flora raised Annie Mae and their other siblings. Annie Mae accepted Christ early in life. She attended Stanton High School. Annie Mae met Charles Bordeaux at the young age of eighteen and they were married shortly after. They loved dancing, music, and having a great time with friends and family. Their home was a center for joy and love. During their union God blessed them with five amazing children. Annie Mae loved Charles for better and worst for fifty-four years until his death in 2012.
Annie Mae worked for Barnett Bank, now Bank of America, for twenty years. During her time there she made many friends and brightened many lives with her smile and sweet spirit. Retirement from the bank did not stop Annie Mae, she worked for Allen Daycare for another ten years. She attended Joint Heirs Christian Center until joining her son’s church, The Church of the Risen Lord, where she served as mother of the church.
She is preceded in death by beloved husband, Charles Bordeaux, Sr.; parents, Edward & Charolette Simmons; sister/mother, Flora Noble. Annie Mae leaves behind to cherish her memory her five loving children, Charolette Hall, Charles Bordeaux Jr., Ricky Bordeaux (Alberta), Cynthinita Bordeaux-Blake, Andreaux Bordeaux (Merlene); three bonus children, Charlton Hillard (Terri), Tony Belle, Frequita Barrington; a number of cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren; youngest sister, Ida Lee Bennett, eldest brother, Edward Simmons; nephews, great nephews, nieces, great nieces, cousins, and friends.
Celebration of Life service for Ms. Annie Mae Bordeaux will be 11:00AM Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Dayspring Baptist Church, 5654 Dunn Avenue. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
