Annice Legons Obituary

LEGONS I was born Annice White July 3, 1951 in Mobile, Alabama to a loving couple, Hubert White Sr. and Aldine Gullet White.  I attended the public school system in Mobile, Alabama until 1971.  My twin sister, Bernice and I relocated to Jacksonville, Florida after graduating from high school to attend business college.  My studies in Business and Secretarial Administration were completed within the next two years.

In 1974, I gave my life to Jesus Christ while a member of the Fourth Street Church of God where I began serving in the music ministry and other areas of ministry wherein, I was needed.

I married Johnny Legons April 4, 1976 and remained in that union until present day. To us, God gave two wonderful children which brought the joy and splendor of motherhood.  I was a wonderful and Godly mother.  One of the chief joys of my life was in seeing my children accept Jesus as Lord and Savior at an early age and to this day serving God with dedication and gladness.

I have held several job titles and worked for different companies in the city of Jacksonville, but the one that developed me the most and allowed me to become the person I wanted to be was the position beside my husband, Johnny, as the wife of a Christian Minister of the Gospel.  We have served together in ministry for over forty years.  God has been very good to me and I would not trade one day of being in His service.

I was proceeded in death by my parents, Hubert and Aldine “Tee”.  To remember me and cherish my memory, I leave behind my husband of forty-five years, Pastor Johnny Legons; my daughter, Jacinda Legons; and my son, Javon (Erica) Legons; six loving sisters, Gloria Franklin, Deloris Ward, my twin sister - Bernice (James) Abney, Stella (Lawrence) Shamburger, Emma White, Diane Lambert; one brother, Hubert White Jr.; a host of nephews, nieces; other relatives, my church family and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of First Lady Annice Legons, 11 AM Friday, March 12, 2021, at Greater Harvest Christian Fellowship, 9113 Ridge Boulevard.   Visitation Thursday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Interment at Restlawn Memorial Park.  Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.

 My Parting Words To All

I have run my course, you must run yours, and the Holy Scriptures teaches us that “we too must go the way of all the earth”.   We will only get one chance to live this earthly life, please live it in daily fellowship with Jesus Christ.  And one day, hopefully not too far in the distant future you will come to see that His calling me home was an act of His love for me.  He did not want me to hurt anymore.  I am with Him now.
