Gibson ~ Living a life full of adventure and service to others, U.S. Air Force Major Andrew Kevin Gibson (Retired), MPAS PA-C entered eternal rest on October 8, 2024, at the age of 61.
Andrew was born in Ft. Liberty, NC (formerly Ft. Bragg) to SFC Albert and Valada Gibson on November 1, 1962. He graduated from Ribault High School before attending the University of Florida and obtaining his degree of Master of Physicians Assistant Studies, Physician Assistant-Certified. During his time in college, he pledged to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Andrew answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force. He dedicated over 20 years of life and service to the nation before retiring in 2017.
Andrew traveled the world both for leisure and providing health services to those who were in need. You could often find him building and flying large and realistic model airplanes and helicopters, following his love of both history and aviation. Andrew also displayed his skills as a Chef by trying new recipes and introducing those dishes to loved ones. In all his endeavors, his artistry and attention to detail was readily evident.
Andrew Gibson is survived by his mother, Valada J. Gibson; sisters, Valli Gibson (Wayne) and Deidra Gibson (Angel); brother, Tracy Gibson (Lysette); nieces, Tiffany Gibbs-Gibson (Tereka), Valada Cruz (Juan), and Diala Gibson; nephews, Shaun Gibson and Neco Gibson; great-nephews, Christian and Timothy; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert R. Gibson and brothers, Eric Gibson and Victor Gibson. A special thank you to Andrew’s mentor, Dr. Paul J. Chappano, MD FACS, for his continuing mentorship and support to the Gibson family.
