Washington ~ We gather today in gratitude to honor the life of Anderson Washington, Jr, who was born June 13, 1952, to Anderson and Jannie Washington in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended James Weldon Johnson School but completed his studies at Job Corps in Kentucky.
Anderson was a man of faith and was a deacon at Israel United Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor White; he was a deacon at Greater Missionary Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Greene. He enjoyed watching football games on television, listening to jazz music, and spending time with family and friends.
A beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Anderson is survived by his children, Sheila, Anderson (Theresa), Jeanette, Annette, Sharon, Adrian and Michael Washington, Sonceria Huffman; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; extended family and friends. Anderson will truly be missed.
Celebration of Life service for Anderson Washington, Jr. will be 11:00AM Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at The Soutel Chapel. Visitation Friday, January 17, 2025, from 4 – 6:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
