Alton G. Johnson

Johnson ~ Alton Gregory “Greg” Johnson was born September 2, 1961, in Macon, Georgia to the late Robert and Ozelle Johnson.  He was last employed as a forklift operator on the shipping dock in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  Alton graduated from Jean Ribault High School class of 1979.  He attended Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina on a football scholarship. 

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, six uncles and nine aunts.  He leaves a loving family to cherish his memory, sons, Jarvis Johnson and Jarred Johnson; daughter, Shannon Johnson; grandchildren, London Austin, Isaiah Johnson, Jakab Johnson;  brothers, Anthony Johnson and family  San Diego, CA, Adrian Mitchell and family Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Pamela Johnson  Riverdale, GA, Shirley Ann Willis and family  Roberta, GA, Lisa Mitchell and family Jacksonville, FL; aunts, Alice Clarington, Glenice Harris (James), Louise Gibson (Freddie) of Roberta, Georgia; bonus brothers, LaMar Dixon, Marvin Payne, Shawn Boone; bonus sisters, Daffin Boone, Mary Robinson, Shirley Payne; all the Corbin and Johnson relatives in Georgia; and many loving friends.  He will be truly missed and cherished in the hearts and memory of all who knew him. 

Celebration of Life service for Alton Gregory Johnson will be 2;00PM, Saturday, July 22, 2023, at The Soutel Chapel. Visitation Saturday from 1-2pm at The Soutel Chapel.
