Altamease Henry Milton Obituary

MILTON ~  Altamease Henry Milton was born September 9, 1949 in Yulee, Florida, to the union of the late Mr. John Thomas Henry, Sr. & Mrs. Ruth Calhoun Henry.

Atamease was the “Fashionesta” of the family when it came to fashion, hair, makeup or home and garden designing; she took great pride in how things were always set and maintained.  Having an almost comedic spirit, she loved to entertain family and friends. One of her greatest achievements in life was to work in the medical field - she was a Licensed Practical Nurse for more than thirty years and prior to her retiring she was employed with Taylor Care Center of Jacksonville, Florida, where she met and made wonderful friends.  During her downtime, she enjoyed playing and solving puzzle word books.  She was a loving mother to so many, loved by many and will be truly missed.

Altamease was a longtime resident of both Florida and Mobile, Alabama.  In 1994, she met the love of her life, Virgil Milton, and was married February 5, 1999.  Through this union, a blended family was formed.

She departed this life Sunday, January 17, 2021, in the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Southside, Jacksonville, Florida.  Altamease was preceded in death by her baby brother; brother, John Thomas 'Tommy' Henry, Jr.; sisters, Mary Alice & Ruth D. Henry; mother-in-law, Louise B. Jackson; brother-in-law, Samuel A. Barren.

Those left to remember her in kindness and cherish her memory, husband, Virgil Milton; sons, Christopher D. Henry, Massachusetts, Cedric D. Holmes, Jacksonville, Florida;  daughter, Carlette D. Henry, Mobile, Alabama; stepsons, Kendall Milton, Kendrick (Chyna) Milton; stepdaughter, Janette (Kenneth) Craige; grandsons, Terrence (Teya) Reddick, Sr., Wichita, Kansas, Christopher Henry, Tennessee, Quentin Henry,  Massachusetts, Kimani Milton, Kimani Milton, Kheyome' Milton, granddaughters, Deirdre (Emond) Thomas, Mobile, Alabama, Lakeshia Reddick, Mobile, Alabama, Kamya Milton; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; brothers, Alex Melvin (Regina) Calhoun, Sr., Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Robert Alderman, Sr., Folkston, Georgia, Rodney (Charlene) Henry, Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Carolyn Talley, Washington, DC, Delores Beverly, East Point, Georgia, Vanessia Henry, Jacksonville, Florida;  aunt, Mrs. Mary Calhoun, Yulee, Florida; five sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; goddaughter, Kourtney Waldon; special couple/brother & sister-in-law, Debra (Joseph) Crawford, Augusta, Georgia; a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great-great-great nephews/nieces; cousins and many friends.
