Smith ~ Allen Wayne “Snoop” Smith was born August 22, 1980, in Tacoma, Washington to Larry and Laurie Smith. He passed peacefully into eternal rest, June 18, 2023, at his home with his wife by his bedside. Allen graduated from Alamogordo High, New Mexico, in 1999, where he played soccer and baseball. He enjoyed watching the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), fishing shows, soccer, basketball and football – his favorite football team was the Chicago Bears. Allen loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his dogs and cats.
He served twenty years in the U S Navy as a Submarine Missile Technician. He retired in 2018 with an honorable discharge. After retiring from the Navy, Allen became employed with General Dynamics until his health began to fail.
Allen was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Smith; mother-in-law, Sandra Anderson; grandparents, Lyman and Emma Smith; grandfather-in-law, Levi Anderson, Sr.; uncle, Gary Smith; uncles-in-law, Levi Anderson, Jr., Terry Anderson, Jr. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of twenty years, Gloria Smith; children, Laqunita, Gary, Kadejah; grandchildren, Shunti, Blessyn, Graylin, Jr, Bralyn, Aubery, So’phiaa, Isacc, Jacorey, Jontoriun, Noah; parents, Larry and Laurie Smith; sisters, Amy Smith, Shannon Smith, Patricia (Andy) Grado; brothers-in-law, Chad (Dawn) Anderson, Eddie (Trinneh) Anderson, Rudolph Anderson; sister-in-law, Victoria Anderson; grandmother-in-law, Marguerite Anderson; uncles, Russell (Eileen) Smith, Ron (Carey) Smith; uncles-in-law, Alphonso (Lynette) Anderson, Theodore Anderson, aunts-in-law, Brenda “Joyce” Anderson, Belinda Ferguson, Chaurese (Glendrick) Crawford, Dorothy (George) Kinard, Gloria Watson, Ida Brown; godchildren, Ca’muary, Cameron, Ca’Liyah Mayhew; cousins, Nate Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Erik Smith; special cousins-in-law, Kinuka “Kim” Anderson, Paulette (Eddie) Melton; a host of nephews, nieces and sorrowing friends. Allen will truly be missed by family and friends.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Allen Wayne Smith, 11 AM Friday, July 7, 2023, at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, 5527 Redpoll Avenue. Visitation Thursday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E.
