Alberta Mincey

Mincey ~ Alberta Mincey was born November 11, 1937, to John Porter and Rosa Clup in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. She graduated from Old Stanton High School.
 

Alberta retired from Methodist Hospital after more than twenty years of dedicated service. She was a member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she attended until her health failed. Alberta was a loving person who did not judge anyone and would take care of everybody.  She would always open her door to assist anyone. Alberta loved to cook, dance, play cards and enjoyed being with her family.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Porter & Rosa Clup; grandchildren, Willie, Michael, Zaron; siblings, John Porter Jr, Betty Irvin, Doris Cuyler, Mercede Carter, Rosa Porter, Joyce Holmes. Alberta will be cherished by children, Cintoria McGriff, Wanda Mincey, Anthony Mincey, Jerome Mincey, Zara Mincey; grandchildren, Kecia, Katrell, Shadrika, Deshana, Devin, Jerome, Anthony, Ericka, Zarica, Zara, Zaria, Zachary, Zionne, Diamond; thirty-seven great grandchildren; twenty-one great-great grandchildren; siblings, Aretha Johnson, Vera Mae Gamble, Deloris (George) Daniels, a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Alberta Mincey, 11 AM Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2803 Edgewood Avenue West.   Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Interment in Edgewood Cemetery.  Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J.
