Serah Louise Dixon

DIXON ~ Sarah Louise Brooker Dixon was born August 2, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, to James and Louvinia Brooker.  She attended the local New York Public Schools.  As a young adult, she moved to South Carolina; and finally, to Jacksonville, Florida.  Sarah was employed as a Nurse’s Assistant before eventually becoming a housewife.

She was married to Charles Calvy, Sr. and from this union two children were born, Charles Jr. & Tina Calvy.  She later married the love of her life, James Dixon, and they remained wedded until his death.  Sarah loved cooking and eating good food; she also loved spending time with family.  She enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends.  In her later years, she spent her spare time watching old western movies and game shows.  Sarah had a wonderful sense of humor and a loud laugh that could fill up a room.  She would always tell you how she felt; and was known to help anyone in need.

Sarah was preceded in death by husband, James Dixon; son, Billy Eugene Brooker; parents, James & Louvinia Brooker; brother, James Brooker, Jr.  She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Charles Calvy, Jr.; loving and devoted daughter/caregiver, Tina Calvy Monroe; grandchildren, Louvenia Brooker, Vialetta T. Hall, Willie B. Hall; great-grandchildren, including Rayvonne Bush & Trayvonn Hall; very caring/loyal sisters, Geneva Wilson & Evelyn Coleman (Eddie); several nephews and nieces, including Jeremiah Wilson, Joe Campbell, Cynthia Trent, Sherlyn Richardson (Gary), Peter, Tony, Freddie, Mary, Shirley, Ree, Gloria & Beaulah Calvy; sister-in-law, Ruth Calvy; a host of other relatives and friends. 

Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Serah Louise Booker Dixon will be Tuesday November 26, 2019, 12:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel, 5065 Soutel Drive.  Family will receive friends one hour before the service.  Because of the love of her family arrangements entrusted to J.
