Joseph June Obituary

JUNE ~ Mr. Joseph Ernest June was born September 17, 1946 in Lane, South Carolina to Susan June and Bradford Morant.   He attended the local schools of Williamsburg County, South Carolina.  After graduation, Joseph was drafted into the Army, 1969.  Upon completion of his short military career, Joseph furthered his education at Florida Community College of Jacksonville, sponsored by the G I Bill.

Joseph started his work career at a young age working for the railroad.  He later relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where he and his father owned and operated a mechanic business, “Leroy and Son”.  Joseph was employed by Clark and Lewis, and later he was employed by W. R. Grace and Company.

Joseph passed away suddenly Sunday, June 2, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph E. June, Jr.; fathers, Bradford Morant and Leroy Snider; stepmother, Flora Morant; brother, Troy Sirmons; aunts, Mary E. Harden and Geneva Bright; brother-in-law, Charles L Green.

Joseph leaves to cherish his precious memory a devoted and loving wife of 39 years, Mable Jones; loving mother, Susan June Snider; sons, Anthony June, Julian June, Isaac June, Mario June and Homer R. Strigglers; daughters, Pamela June, and Regina Poole (Hal); 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brothers, O’Neil Morant (Jacqueline), Leroy Snider, Jr., Pastor Curtis G. Snider, Sr. (Sonya), Elroy Sirmons, Bradford Morant, Jr. (Barbara), Matthew Morant, Ronald Morant, Terrence Morant (Marian), Robert Snider, Jersey Snider, Jimmy Snider (Neicy), Louis Leroy Snider (Deloris), Timothy Snider, Lester Snider, Kenneth Snider (Cheryl), Karl Snider & Burnie Snider; sisters, Dora Morant-Newton (David), Cynthia Stanford and Deborah A. Gray (Frank), Barbara A Greene, Suzette Y. Snider, Jestine Snider and Francella Melton (Allen); uncles, Willie Westley June, Henry James June, Jr., George Snider, aunts, Addie B. Bright and Catherine Taylor; like a son, John Morris Dipples; like a brother, Timothy June, Sr (Kim); like a sister, Martha E. Smith, Patricia June and Carrie White; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many sorrowing friends. 

Celebration of Life service for Joseph Ernest June will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2019 at St. James AME Church, 6708 Santee Road, Lane, South Carolina, Reverend Gilbert DeKine, Pastor.  Family will receive friends Thursday at J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral Home, 5065 Soutel Drive, Jacksonville, Florida from 5-7 PM, Friday at Henryhand Funeral Home, 1951 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Kingstree, South Carolina from 5 – 7 PM.  Interment at Marion Memorial Gardens, Kingstree, South Carolina.  Because of the love of his family arrangements entrusted to J.
