John Frederick Worthy

WORTHY ~ John Frederick Worthy, affectionately known as Fred, was born June 27, 1961 to Earnestine Howard and John Henry Worthy.  He was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Duval County Public Schools.  He worked as a Handy Man/Painter for many years and worked on many homes in his community.  Fred was a caregiver by nature and loved helping people.  His favorite past time included grilling, traveling, going to the beach and spending time with his family.  His kind spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Earnestine Howard & John Worthy; brother, Enrico Logans; aunts, Ellen Sales, Evelyn Dunlap, Delores Young.  He is survived by children, Tyrell Griffin, Whitney, Justin & Nicholas Worthy; brothers, Herbert, Kenneth & Anthony Howard; sisters, Marilyn & Gloria Howard, Carolyn Cummings (Willie), Cheryl Shanks; uncles, John & Andy Turner; aunt, Alice T. Williams; partner, Cynthia Baro Jackson; mothers of his children, Angela Griffin & Michelle Demery.

Celebration of life Service for John Frederick Worthy will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at The Soutel Chapel, 5065 Soutel Drive.  Family will receive friends one hour before the service.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J.
