MIDDLETON ~ Gloria Jean Middleton was born June 12, 1949 in Miami, FL to the late Florence E. Middleton. Gloria received her early education in St. Johns County, Florida and moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she attended William M. Raines Senor High School where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad. She graduated with the class of 1967.
After graduating from high school, Gloria continued her education and love for cheering at Edward Waters College. She moved back to South Florida in 1970 and later returned to Jacksonville, Florida where she was employed with Cathedral Rehabilitation Center as a Physical Therapist.
Gloria was predeceased by her mother, Florence E. Middleton; sister, Shirley Jean Willis; and daughter Tamara Aries “Tammy” Jones-Thomas.
Gloria Middleton departed this life Monday, September 10, 2018 and leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, La’Toya R. Jones and Shannon T. Jones; grandchildren, Ta’Tionna C. Thomas, Calvin D. Thomas, Cayla R. Thomas, Michael A. N. Stokes, Eugene J. Green III, Theodore Payne, Tamara Payne, Shannon A. Payne, Marquis N. Jones-Payne, Anthony N. Hill, Michael T. Simpson III, Mi’Kynzi T. Simpson; great grandchild, Zion L. White; a number of other relatives and many friends.
