A Time To Be Born

George M. Gaskin was born May 9, 1928 in Raiford, Florida to George Scott and Rachel Edwards.

 

A Time To Grow

George attended elementary school in the Union County school system; relocated to Jacksonville, Florida and attended Stanton High School.

 

A Time To Serve

George was a member of A M E Greater Church of The Master where he served as a steward. He retired in 1987, after forty-three years of dedicated service with CSX transportation as a welder.

 

A Time To Mourn

George was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Gaskin; daughters, Patricia Berrian and Audrey Singletary; grandson, Michael Brooks, Derrius Kinte Gaskin; great-granddaughter, Kenya Graham: brother Rudolph "Jack" Gaskin; son-in-law, Vernon Richardson; devoted friend, Gilbert Dickerson.  He is survived by sons, George Jr. (Gwendolyn), Gregory Sr., Edward, Donald Sr. (Cristal); daughters, Leveen Richardson, Victoria Brooks; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great great-grandchildren; sisters, Virlee Stewart of North Carolina, Elizabeth Dawson; sister-in-law, Gloria “Juanita” Gaskin; a host of loving relatives and sorrowing friends.

 

Celebration of Life Service for Mr.  George Gaskin will be 10 AM Saturday June 29, 2019, 5637 Vernon Road, Charles Jones, Pastor.  Family will receive friends Friday at The Soutel Chapel from 5 – 7 PM.  Because of the love of his family arrangements entrusted to J.
