WILSON ~ DeAlver Lavern Wilson
“A Time to Be Born”
DeAlver Lavern Wilson, the eleventh child born to the late Stephen and Estella Wilson, was born September 5, 1939.
“A Time to Embrace”
At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sanford, Florida. In later years as he settled in Jacksonville, Florida, he joined New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
“ A Time to Learn”
DeAlver attended the public school system of Seminole County, Florida, graduating from Crooms Academy in 1957.
“A Time to Serve”
DeAlver enlisted and entered into the United States Army September 13, 1957, where he proudly served his country. After his military service, he continued to serve by working for the United States Postal Service for over forty-five years.
“A Time to Love”
He met and married Doris Millicent Hall, who preceded him in death. They married March 9, 1963, and celebrated thirty-0ne years of marriage. To this union two daughters were born, Carolyn and Angela.
“A Time to Die”
On the 23rd day of July, 2018 at 8:22 post meridian, his work was done, he was tired and Our Father called him home.
“A Time to Cherish”
His family will always cherish his memory. He leaves to mourn his demise daughters, Carolyn Wilcox (Ronald) and Angela Wilson; grandsons, Reynaldo Wilcox and Isaiah Wilcox; brothers-in-law, Simon Hall, Jr. and Ronald Young; sisters-in-law, Barbara Young, Essie Hall and Wynella Wilson; uncle, Jennings Best; aunt, Constance Best; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other devoted friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be 11 AM Monday, July 30th, New Bethlehem M B Church, 1824 Prospect St, Rev. Marion Wise, Pastor. Visitation from 3 - 5 PM SUNDAY at the Soutel Chapel. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
