Curtis Miller, Jr. Obituary

MILLER ~ Mr. Curtis Lee Miller (Buck) - 75, was born to the late Curtis L. Miller Sr. and Sadie Mae Roberts, September 26, 1943, in Lowndes County, Georgia. Curtis attended Westside High School where he played sports and was a graduate of the Class of 1962.  Curtis moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1964 and began a lifetime career as a Teamster. He met Martha Grice in 1995; they were wed in 1998 and shared a loving marriage for twenty-one years.  He worked for Aqua Gulf for twenty-five years and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

Curtis was a quiet, loving, family man of great strength, faith, and loyalty.  He and his wife, whom he affectionately called “Babyface”, was the foundation for their family.  His greatest joy was knowing that “Babyface” was and always would be by his side.  Curtis and  “Babyface” spent their days watching their favorite westerns, cheering for their football teams, and talking about the news.  He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and laughing with his four friends, Matt Shaw, Kenneth Negron, Larry Rogers, and Johnny Williams.  Curtis was happy to welcome his first great-grandson, Sterling Isom Jr., fondly known as “shotgun”, into the world and enjoyed spending time with him. Over the years, the family shared many happy memories during holidays, celebrations and gatherings. Curtis and Babyface set an excellent example of love and commitment for all of us to follow, and we are thankful for the blessing of having Mr. C. Miller in our lives. Curtis will be truly missed, but we will carry the love and memories of the times we shared in our hearts forever. Rest in peace; you’ve earned your rest!

Curtis departed this earthly realm Monday, February 11, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Sadie Miller Sr.; sister, Elizabeth Jean Miller Small. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Mrs. Martha G. Miller;  sons, Jerry “Lil Curtis” Murphy (Robert) and Bradford L. Hall (Gloria); daughters, Dr. Carnell E. Hall and Melessia R. Hall; grandchildren, Charles L. Hall Jr., Sterling M. Isom Sr. (Sontrice), Blaine A. Isom (Davina), Darryl A. Alexander, Jamarius and Zachariah Murphy; great grandson, Sterling M.
