Alyce Williams Obituary

WILLIAMS~  Sunrise ~  Alice (Alyce) Williams was born April 11, 1932 to Johnny Gray Williams and Nolia James in Lakeland Florida.  She later moved to Fort Myers, Florida where she attended grade school in Lee County and graduated from Dunbar High School.

Alyce was baptized at an early age and later accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  She joined the fellowship of First Assembly of God in Lehigh, Florida where she participated in missions, Sunday School, and welcoming of new members.  Alyce’s love for the Lord enabled her to pursue continuous learning regarding theology, faith, the Bible, and God’s Word.  Her greatest joy was sharing the gospel with others.  She enjoyed a lively discussion about Jesus as Lord and Savior and was extremely knowledgeable about the Word.

Alyce’s career path took her to Rochester, New York where she worked as a cashier and bookkeeper for Wegman Stores.  She later moved back to Fort Myers as she desired to be closer to her family when her son went into the military.  Alyce took a job with Winn Dixie Stores as a cashier and bookkeeper and retired from the company.  Her extensive financial background and customer service experience enabled her to obtain a position with the Walmart Company where she worked as a cashier and customer service representative.  Alyce’s job later transferred her to Jacksonville, Florida where she worked until her retirement from Walmart. She also became a member of the Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, Bishop Rudolph McKissick, Jr., Lead Pastor.  Alyce later moved her membership to the West Jacksonville Church of God in Christ, Bishop Gary Hall, Pastor, due to health problems; this church was closest to her home.

Sunset ~  Alyce departed this life November 3, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her only child, Retired Master Sargent Ronald Richardson; father and mother; brothers, Henry Brown and Joseph Williams; sister, Johnnie Mae Brown.  Her beautiful life and legacy will be forever cherished by her grandchildren, Ronna, Aaron, and Roneill Richardson; daughter-in-law, Sharon Richardson of Jacksonville Florida; brothers, Rev. John Williams (Jackie) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Arto Brown (Frances); sisters, Mamie Williams, Frieda Lias, and Rosalyn Brown of Ft. Myers, Florida; a host of devoted nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
